To Man be the Glory

I live in an area full of little (and not so little) arminian churches, whose awful doctrine flows from an even worse theology. Most are filled with nice people, who don’t know any better, and get very touchy when you point out the inconsistencies in their religion. Bret McAtee included this little “hymm” in a recent post and I thought it did a great job of exposing the error of some people by changing the words of a song they sing often to better reflect what they believe.

To man be the glory
Great things he hath done
So loved he Himself
That he assisted the Son
In making His death
An atonement for sin
For apart from man’s will Jesus never can win

Praise to man
Praise to man
Let the earth hear man’s voice
Praise to man
Praise to man
Let the Deity rejoice

Oh come to the Father
And make Jesus feel good
for apart from man’s work
There’s no grace in the rood

I think this posting would be much more affective if you were to sing on u-tube. Those who don’t like to read could hear your message.

Not to worry, Arminians rarely read. ;)
