Western PA Bound…

It looks like we have have worked out a lease for the place in PA (Crawford County). The plan is to have everything moved and be milking there by September 1st or so, sending the women out ahead with household stuff a week or so before so they can get the milkhouse painted and whatever. Dad and I will come with the herd. I might go down and help unload the household stuff and work in the barn for a day and come back, not sure how its all going to work out yet. Its a very nice place, much better land than we have here and a very nice 44 cow tiestall barn with tiled mangers (I’ve always wanted a barn with tiled mangers). Its an old Amish farm with a big house that is in good repair. Its only a half hour or so from the Midland Agrarian, who has been kind enough to answer questions about the area through email. We are busy packing and planing and trying to figure out how we will get it all done. Please pray for us in the coming weeks.

Something seems to be wrong with your RSS feed. Every time you post, I get this in my Google Reader:

Well, there is more but I chopped it off to not be irritating. I hope that you can figure out what is wrong!

I get his feed and I just got the post, not what you got. Hmmmm…

I am glad you found a farm. Since it is Amish, will you have electricity?

  3. Scott Terry Says:

Interesting, I’ll have someone smarter than I be look into it :)

The last guy to milk there wasn’t Amish, so it is electrified. The water is gravity fed from a spring though, I find it fascinating that it can water a house and barn with no pump.

Marci, don’t you and Ginny live in Ohio? If so, how far over the border from PA are you folks.

Been reading at your blogs for awhile…just wanted to say I am so happy that you have found a place to relocate that should be just what is needed. Seems our FATHER always supplies, but so often it is at the almost last second in time!!! Blessings and will be watching for updates on your experiences there!!

    Terry,

Congratulations! I’m happy for you. I know it will be hard to move. Moving is such a pain, but it will be worth it, I’m sure.

    :-D

Marci and I are about 3 1/2 hours from Crawford County. Close, but still a trek. ;-)

I hope you have a moving experience. LOL!

    Hi Scott and Leah!
Our family just returned from Crawford county (2 counties over from us) yesterday! Wow! This is just great news! If you need any help from the home schooling perspective, just let me know. :0)

    Blessings,
