Two Interesting Articles

I thought these two articles were interesting.

USA Today ran an article called Economic Survivalists about a family in Michigan that started homesteading because of the economic realities of a collapsing economic system.

Peggy Noonan wrote a WSJ article with her take on the story that was called Goodbye Bland Affluence.

The sad fact is, that as much as I hate to ever agree with Noonan, she makes an unintended point. So much of the new tendency toward ’survival’ is going to be defined in humanistic terms. It is unfortunate that folks aren’t yet seeing the need to repent of their unbiblical lifestyle, but are just trying to figure out how to make sure they stay at the top of the stack. Even if the economy of that stack is an agrarian based one. I pray that some will also consider the spiritual reality that is leading to the current situation. Otherwise, Noonan and her friends will have too much influence on the shaping of our future and we will be heading in another wrong direction. Now is a good time for the Church to re-think her own materialistic obsession and cast a proper framework on exactly why we have come to such disillussion.

It is good to see that there is still a lot of common sesnse left in this world. All it takes is a little elbow grease and know-how.

I have to say, its about time mainstream people picked up on this. I actually wrote an Intelligent Survival article, as did, I believe, Herrick Kimball a while back. I can only hope more people see the world for what it is fast becoming and start following the lords path.

The reason I found these articles interesting is that they can’t ignore us any longer. They will give it their own “spin” and downplay it but they can’t ignore it. They can’t report honestly about it either though. Look who finances the mainline media. The madison ave, wallstreet slavemasters who have nothing to gain and everything to lose by people leaving the system and providing their own needs.
