We started a big compost pile with the manure our animals bless us with. Perhaps we will have some folks interested in this too.

Okay, it took me a while to get my garden in, but I have now planted the Hopi Blue field corn. I also have planted quinoa and amaranth, for chicken feed as well as people feed. I will let you know how it goes. I planted it in a spot where I had put about six inches of leaves and straw in the fall and then, before I planted, I put two good loads of chicken litter on the soil and tilled it in. I am expecting good things, Lord willing. :-D

Hey Scott,

I might have mentioned this in an earlier post, but here at the local Feed & Seed, Mr. Harvey told me that there are more people starting backyard gardens than ever since he took over. Alos, you have to get on a waiting list to buy chickens from any of the stores locally within an hour of here.

We'll there! Some good news! And these people, who haven't been gardening, even knew to get manure for their gardens- that's more than what I knew when I started gardening! :-)
