Mt. Hunger Wind

Timeless
fierce
and constant

Bitter
biting
piercing cold

Howling
crying
and screaming

Ruthless
coldblooded
and cruel

Driving, heaping
and carving
our hilltop
world of white

Consistant companion
testing our nerve
with your bone-chilling
power and might

What doesn’t kill you
makes you stronger
with faith we continue the fight

Almighty God, give us strength
and preserve us
as we face this merciless wind
keep us all faithful and thawed out
so next year we can do it
again

Wow! You’re a poet and now we know it! :-D

By the way, that’s a good one.

    Hi, Scott,

Great poem! I’ll be praying that your wind eases. We get strong winds out here in Colorado, too, and they drive me nuts. I was a comedic sight, trying to hang my sheets on the clothesline today.

I just tell myself I’m thankful I’m not homesteading on the prairie when our winds get especially bad.

Blessings to you and the family! I always love stopping by your blog and reading how you all are doing.

Scott, wonderful poem! Hard to fathom when we’ve got sun and 60 degree weather here in Texas! But we know about that biting, cold north wind out here in the Prairie! I’ve had to chase things that the wind is trying to blow away!

    Thank you Ladies.

Christine, it is good to see you’re still around. I was thinking about you and wondering how you were the other day. Hope you have time to blog more this year.
