Gone Fishin’
We finished up the barn roof on Monday and Leah and the boys came home that afternoon. Its nice to have that job done. We’ve been getting ready to whitewash the cow stable for the last couple of days. I’ve been playing tag with the turkey flocks for a few days now. So far I’ve had a few close calls but no birds in the bag yet. This morning the boys and I stumbled into a flock of 14 right behind the house but we didn’t get a shot off. We almost got within range before they flew off into the valley woods. Oh well, hunting turkeys with 2 kids 5 and under…you can’t expect to much. Today we made up our minds to give up on the turkeys and just all go fishin’ instead. Dugs some worms, packed some sandwiches and the whole clan hiked back to a little lake and spent the evening soaking in the view and casting our lines. Good way to cap off a hard days work on the farm.
