Hi folks

Glad you enjoyed the article. I read Carlson's The New Agrarian Mind this winter and recomend it. It does a good job of giving a history of agrarian thought and its shortcomings. I found a bunch of articles he wrote this winter, but can't remember where they were. I thought it was at Rick's bookstore site, but if it was its gone now.

Thank you for bringing this article to our attention. Having been brought up with the lie that contraception was good, we only came to better understand God's plan over the last several years. It is heartening to see that the Lord is reawakening His church to the blessing and command to be fruitful and multiply.

As the father of two young men (14 and 11), I can speak from the other perspective when I say that godly, modest, agrarian, reformed young ladies are a rare jewel, and to be highly valued!

I am going to read some more Carlson for sure thankyou.
I too have five daughters , my girls must be provided with security in having a refuge here with their parents for as long as they need it. I have given them each a small field to build their dreams on as they grow and please God to raise their families on when god blesses them with matrimony. If the single life is their lot, a place for them to protect their chastity. If they leave a place to return to and if they are wounded by the world a place for healing.

All I can say is wow! It is truly incredible to see God's hand at work in reviving His church. My wife and I just had our seventh child. He is our second son. His name is Calvin Matthew. Suitors will not even step foot toward my children until it is known what they believe (and how strongly) on this issue. It is no longer enough for us to think that just because someone says their a Christian, that they are worthy suitors or even friends for that matter, for the Covenant children of the the Most High God and King.

What was most striking to me about this article was that doctrine did not dictate practice, but the other way around. How often is this the case in my own life? It is a real eye opener to strive toward being transformed by the renuing on my mind by studying the Word to show myself approved instead of being conformed to the world and interpreting the Word to meet my desires.

By the way, I have 5 daughters and 2 sons (ages 12, 9, 6, 5, 3, 1 and Newborn). For any reformed agrarians out there, we are looking for good suitors even now. Believe is or not, in all the reformed churches within an hour or two of New Orleans ( and there are NOT many) there are NO children of families who hold to the historic Protestant view of family.

Scott, I hope your okay with a little advertising here :o). Please let Leah know that Stacy reads her blog a good bit and has been greatly blessed by her as I have by your writtings.

God Bless,

Matt, Stacy, Kayla, Lauren, Rachel, Hannah, Rebekah, Elisha Paul and Calvin Matthew
