And The Winners are…….
Thank you for being patient with me. While I was trying to figure out what to do about choosing the winner, I recieved a few more offers for prize money. Barry and Lynne Morgan, of Acres of Hope Ministries, wanted to donate $30 to the prize money. Then I was contacted by someone who wants to remain anonymous. They had a proposition that was a true blessing, if I split up the book money for all three finalists; they would donate $100 cash for the top 2 writers with the encouragement that it be spent on capital acquisition for an agrarian project. Herrick Kimball has offered to give the writer in the 3rd slot a copy of his book, The Writings of a Deliberate Agrarian. So as you can see, this has grown into a pretty nice prize package. Praise the Lord!
I want to thank everyone who helped make this all possible. What a great testimony. The following folks all helped us to encourage and bless these young agrarians.
Tom McConnell
Herrick Kimball
Tom Scepaniak
Cheri Shelnutt
Rick Saenz
Randall Caldwell
Barry & Lynne Morgan
OK, heres who gets what…..
The first place prize was a tie and they both get the following, $70 to spend at Cumberland Books or Vision Harvest and $100 cash to be spent on capital acquisition for an agrarian project.
Congratulations to Karisa Burch and “The Bartlett Brothers”, both winners of the first place prize.
The second place prize goes to Jared Grace, who also did a great job with his essay. He will get $70 to spend at either store, a $20 gift certificate from Sweet Hollow Farm and a copy of Mr. Kimball’s book. Congratulations, Jared.

Congratulations to the winners! What a pleasure to read the very well-written entries. God uses these sorts of things to encourage and refresh His people. The future looks aglow with hope when I see how He is preparing these young folks to live lives with meaning. Again, well done!

Thank you, Mr. Terry for instigating this contest. Thanks also to those generous people who helped make it possible. It was fun and informative. It’s very encouraging to know there are like-minded youths out there!
I’m not yet sure what “agrarian project” the $100 will go toward but I’ll keep you posted at http://www.asiraks.blogspot.com/
Thanks again!
Because of Him,
Karisa B.

I am most pleased. It’s a great start. Congratulations are in order for all those who dared to put their dreams on paper, dreams that many believers scoff at or consider naively misguided. My hat is off to you young saints whose hearts the Lord has and who dare to believe Him and live it out. Don’t let our shallow, pragmatic generation keep you from moving on in Christ. Press in and don’t ever give up.
