Great idea!! I’ll match that $30 and contribute it to the prize. If we do not cause our children to catch the the biblical agrarian calling, it ends with us.

Hey Scott,
This sounds wonderful. I’m spreading the word over at HomesteadBlogger!

Scott,
This is a good idea. I’ll be curious to see what kind of response you get. Most kids don’t have a clue what the home economy is. Most adults don’t either. But it is fundamental to the restoration of Christian agrarian culture and your contest will serve to help some people (young and old) to better understand.
That said, I’d like to be an encouragement to this idea too. I’ll chip in another $30 to add to the contest prize. And I will spread the word at my blog when I return to blogging on March 1st.

Hello Scott:
We’re throwing in another $30 for the essay contest, for at least two reasons: (1) we believe it to be a very worthy cause, and (2) many of you have been a big help to the “home economy” of our small home business over the past couple of years.
Also, since we were put on your list of possible suppliers of books that might interest the winning essayist, I need to let you know about two other matters: (1) Vision Harvest is currently transitioning out of the book resale business to book publishing only, and (2) our ongoing clearance sale has been such a success [in part due to help from some of you] that it appears we will soon be sold out of all the books we resale.
So, thanks again, and may the contest be a blessing to all!

Wow all of the new donations are wonderful. I’m sending folks to this entry so you might want to edit it to show the new prizes if you can.
Just wanted to let you know that I’m spreading the word again. I also created a little graphic that others are welcome to use if they want. :o) I made it small so that it could be used in sidebars, but forgot that I can’t edit my template right now. Ugh….
