Teaching Isaiah

Last night after supper I was holding our new child when John and Noah came over and sat down with us. The boys took it apon themselves to “teach stuff” to their new brother. It was such a blessing to watch. It took quite a while for them to explain all they have learned over the years. Keep in mind that John is 4 and Noah is 2. They told him everything they know about farm animals and wild animals, about plants and trees, and told him (in a most serious way) how they looked forward to “planting a crop” with him some day. When they finished up the first part of the lesson they made a smooth transition into everything he should know concerning faith in Jesus Christ. What struck me most was how how faithful these little ones are. Heres what transpired…

Noah>>> Jesus is the Christ

John>>> He’s King Jesus…..He rules the nations!

Noah>>> He forgived us our sins

John>>> Ya, thats important, he forgived us. He died for our sins.

Noah>>> He rose again!!!!

Noah>>> And….he turned water into wine…

John>>> Oh ya…don’t forget….he fed the hungry multitudes

Noah>>> With fish and bread….

John>>> Ya, a little fish and bread

John>>> He walked on the sea of Galalie

Noah>>> Tell him about the bread and wine….

John>>> Oh yes, When you drink the wine, the man says “This is the New Covenant in my blood” and for the bread he says “this is My body, that got broken”

Noah>>> Thats called the Lord’s Supper

John>>> We worship Jesus on the Lord’s Day

Noah>>> Lets sing him a psalm

John>>> Sing a new a song to the Lord, all earth sing to the Lord ……(and continues to sing psalm 96).

Needless to say their papa was deeply moved. God is faithful, He truly is a God to us and our children. I pray that our little household continues to grow in faith and continues to Serve King Jesus with all their hearts.

Let’s sing him a psalm…that sounds like my house! :) (They love Psalm 45, I think it’s the catchy tune LOL!)

Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings………What a beautiful moment, Scott. I can just imagine your heart swelling with love and pride in your sons. There is nothing so sweet as the sound of a small child praising the Lord and preaching His truth. How He must smile down on them…..and on you!

  5. JFC Says:

    Scott,

I will say it again. You are my hero. I wanna be like you when I grow up.

The Lord has blessed you with another of His children.
We pray that Leah will soon be well and up. And that together you can teach your little flock God’s ways. What a precious pair are the older two! Praise be to the Father!

Isn’t that the type of moment that we all just wait for? That is so precious…Clear proof that you and Leah are keeping Gods Law and instructing your children in the way they should go…and proof as well that they have the Love of Christ in their hearts!! Every parents hope should be this.
