Free Books
I wrote a while back about starting a family reading time at our place. If you haven’t made this a new tradition at your homestead yet, I highly recomend starting soon. It has become one of everybodies favorite times of the day. We have been working our way throught the Little House Series. Leah bought the boxed set years before we were married for her future children to read, and we are all glad she did. These books are simply wonderful. The children love them and beg to read during any spare minute that comes up. At the end of every chapter we have some informal discusion. Sometimes the people in these stories do the right thing, sometimes they flirt with path to modern industrialism, they always give us a chance to talk about family choices and how they effect themselves and future generations.
Leah has picked up the first 2 books in the series, Little House in the Big Woods and Little House on the Prairie, at a yard sale. They are in excellent condition. We would like to bless some young Christian Agrarian with them and give them a good start at reading the series. Be the first to comment on this post and you can have them.

Hi, I may be the first to comment but I already have the series:):) Two of my three children are recreational readers, one alas is not. I would go to yard sales and the two would meet me at the gate with the same question.”Did you find any books??” If
I did, I would give them each the ones I got for them and off they would go to some corner or to curl up on their beds to spend the rest of the day reading. I always got books for my middle son also and he would page through them. Family reading is a wonderful thing!!!

I wholeheartedly agree! As a former public and private school teacher, a parent, and presently a homeschool teacher. My kids hang on every word and we all look forward to the wind-down time at bed.
We are reading Little House on the Prarie ourselves right now. Last night, Pa built the fireplace. A couple of nights ago, the whole house was surrounded by howling wolves, but there were no doors or windows on the house yet!
This is a great offer and I hope someone takes you up on it.

Mark has been mulling over this offer since you made it. He’s also seriously considering the Geneva Bible that you listed next.
If they’re still available we’d love to get them for Charlie’s library.
I hope Leah’s doing well and hanging in there. We’ll have you two and “the boys” in our prayers.

Hi Gwen
I’d love to give them to Charlie! Email me your mailing address out there and I’ll get ‘em off to you.
