Monday Notes

Dave sent me some digital photos of the church, its worse than the last time, but not as bad as it could have been. From the photos, it looks like the foundation on one side was washed away but its still sitting in the right spot. Again, I have not seen it “in the flesh” yet. I’m going out on the 4th to help some of the menfolk work on cleaning it up.

Yesterday we went to the FORC church in Ithaca that I talked about in December. We had a great time of fellowship and worship with our brothers in Ithaca. Our church chose not to meet on the Lord’s Day, our pastor was not back yet from synod and such. I still think we should have met, but it wasn’t my call. After the service I had a chance to talk to 3 ordained ministers from that denomination about stewardship, creation, and the Church’s responibilities in those areas. I was very encouraged by these men, they had a very “agrarian” veiw on the subjects.

We are eating a lot of peas and brocolli these days. The spinich is about done, I think we will plant some more. Taters look good and the corn is finally taking off. Beans and everything else is looking very good as well. Its been way to wet to try weeding. As soon as it drys out I will have a lot of work to do!!

Wood spliting continues. Those huge hickorys take 3 men and a boy to move. I have one man and two boys, but it works. There is half a cord of wood in some of them chunks….ok, not quite….but pretty close :)

    Hi there
Im looking for blogs about potato growing. We are growing some ourself but there is a problem with them. Any chance a budding potato grower could nip to my blog and look at the photo - see if they can tell me whats up? I’d greatly appreciate it.
