John’s Big Day
Today was John’s “Big Day”. As most of you know, the boys spend a lot of time doing chores with me. Up until now the early morning chores have been done without the boys. For those who don’t know, John will be 4 in July and Noah turned 2 in Febuary. In the winter, I get up at 3 AM. In the summer I get up at 4:30. The cows don’t like coming to the barn early and my folks are kind of cripled up in the morning. So, in the summer I adopt the later start. John has been asking to start getting up early and go to the barn with me. This morning I woke him up. I told him if he wanted to go he should get dressed, couse I was heading out the door. He was one happy boy! He got dressed in no time and grabed a flashlight and ran out the door. First we got the cows down out the pasture and then we moved the broilers to fresh grass. Then we got down to milking. John was a great helper and was singing and humming all morning. When we finished milking we fed some calves, we had a new one this morning and John was the first to see it. We cleaned up the milkhouse and went out and fed the broilers. John took a quick detour to the mullberry tree and grabed a quick snack. He told me how much he was looking forward to picking blackcaps this summer. He is a berry lover. One of John and Noahs garden jobs has been doing all the spinich picking. They have got pretty good at it. They both love spinich, so they pick huge piles of it. I am so proud of my little men, they growing up so fast. Today was day Little John will remember forever, and so will his “old man”.

What a delightful story and wonderful, encouraging testimony! Imagine that, a young son awakes with his father before sunrise so they can work the farm together. What will the world think of such biblical agrarian behavior? “Bless his substance, Lord, and accept the work of his hands; strike the loins of those who rise against him, and of those who hate him, that they rise not again” (Deu. 33:11).

Wow!
I guess if family can rise up and call the godly woman “blessed”, so friends should be able to do the same for a godly man and his boys.
Scott, you and John and Noah are both “blessed” and a “blessing.”
Press on, friend! You are such an encouragement to your readers!
Wow!

What a treat to read. What a blessing you have there. A real “man” to help you with the chores. Enjoy!!! They grow up WAY too fast.
