Noah’s Birthday Cake
I suppose the high society crowd would find this cake a little strange, but I know my agrarian freinds will think its pretty neat. I admit, some of the frosting looks like crap…..but hey, its supposed to 
It was my idea and Leah’s handywork. Noah loved it, he called it his “Banure Cake”.

Thanks for the belly laugh. A “banure” spreader is on my list of auction items to keep an eye out for. Now I’ll have a very different mental picture to carry with me. Thanks, and Happy Birthday to Noah!

The best part was this…before they ate any cake, Noah, John and their cousin Timmy dug out all the “Banure” out of the spreader with their fingers and ate it first! Noah said, “I like banure!!”

Now that is a very familiar cake. We have been known to add dairy cows and the whole works on ours. It is so fun that they get such a thrill out of these kind of cakes.

I guess this wouldn’t be too far “off topic” for this thread. I read your comments over on Missouri Rev’s blog about the frozen toilets, and the alternative plan (buckets)
a neat little wooden box with a toilet seat nailed to it and a 5 gallon pail inside. This for the women and children on really cold nights.
… and it reminded me of what I heard a long time ago …
The different between a city girl and a country girl …
The city girl has a canopy over her bed.
The country girl has a can o’ pee under her bed.
I guess it demonstrates that you got yourself a country girl (in your sappy love story) rather than a city girl. LOL!

Here’s an outhouse tip for anyone that plans on building one. Old Sam had instaled a unique seat on the one we had at the trapping cabin. It was made of styrofoam! Even at 40 below it did not chill your bottom to bad, and that outhouse didn’t even have a door.

I must say that this cake beats them all. I have heard of meadow muffins and road apples before, but a “banure spreader” cake, in action no less. I love it!! For sure, we agrarians appear beside ourselves by those who think food comes from the store in colorful, sanitized packages. Now I want to see you poultry farmers come up with a cake.
