I give you my condolences as well. Dogs are amazing creatures of God. They were designed to work with man in stewarding the earth. Having been a police officer years ago and able to observe firsthand the teamwork between an officer and his dog, I learned how incredibly loyal and dedicated they are to the work their masters put before them, even to the point of death. I am partial to Australian Shepherds, which, besides being amazing herders, are great watch dogs and family companions. I encourage you to read the book by Keller, Lessons From a Sheep Dog.
