We would like it to be more like 10 acres but for now this is what the Lord has given us. My husband works a 50 hour week at an office but would trade it in a heartbeat for working the land. I'm in agreement with Scott, it has to be up to the Lord to do the work so we can make the transition. In the meantime, we need to be good stewards of what God has given us. Our garden is small, but this year it's probably 4 times the size of anything I've had since my wife and I married 25 years ago. I should be picking green beans within a week. I'm working to add pastured chickens this year (probably just one cycle), and hopefully get some layers too. Next year I want to add a mama-cow that we can breed for beef. And before too long, a milk cow, too. Granddad was a farmer, and passed along 640 acres to his 8 kids when he died almost 2 years ago. But unfortunately, I have been mostly a city boy. I'm trying to change that, and you (and Chad and Herrick and Tom) are great inspiration! Pray for us city boys who are trying to redirect their lives in a more agrarian direction. I can guarantee you we will not make the transition unless the Lord does a work. JFC Scott,
